PHOTOSYNTHESIS RULE COPIED! 🌱

Photosynthesis Equation 🌱

6CO2 + 6H2O + Light
↓
C6H12O6 + 6O2
Concept: Carbon Dioxide + Water $\xrightarrow{Sunlight}$ Glucose + Oxygen.

The Bio-Energy Keys 🌱

Mg
Chlorophyll

The green pigment in chloroplasts that acts as a 'solar panel' to capture light energy.

COβ‚‚
Stomata

Tiny pores on the leaf surface that act as 'gates' for gas exchange (Carbon Dioxide in, Oxygen out).

Hβ‚‚O
Xylem

The plant's internal 'pipeline' system that transports water from the roots up to the leaves.

hv
Photolysis

The process where light energy splits water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.

Energy
Glucose

The chemical energy (food) produced during the process, stored as starch for the plant's growth.

β¬’
Chloroplast

The 'factory' of the cell where the entire photosynthesis process takes place.

The Two-Stage Process 🌱

STAGE 01: LIGHT REACTIONS β˜€οΈ

Happens in the Thylakoid. Sunlight hits Chlorophyll, splitting Water (Hβ‚‚O) molecules. This releases Oxygen as a byproduct and creates energy molecules (ATP & NADPH).

Input: Light, Water | Output: Oxygen

STAGE 02: CALVIN CYCLE πŸŒ™

Happens in the Stroma. Does not need direct light. Uses Carbon Dioxide (COβ‚‚) and the energy from Stage 1 to build Glucose (C₆H₁₂O₆).

Input: COβ‚‚, Energy | Output: Glucose (Food)
TOTAL CONVERSION: LIGHT ENERGY βž” CHEMICAL ENERGY (STARCH)
