Nicolas Léonard Sadi Carnot, the "father of thermodynamics," proved that no heat engine can ever be 100% efficient. He defined the theoretical limits of power.

1970s | ENERGY CRISIS

The global oil crisis forced engineers to design high-efficiency appliances and LED lighting, shifting the focus from "finding more energy" to "saving what we have."
